This is a new page where reports that we have had on issues germane to the case against LVA will be added. Note not all reports have been logged yet.

Will such a large development result in the loss of wild-life like this?

Subject: Lost facilities & Traffic

We are residents on the High Street. When we moved here in 1986 there were

2x pubs, baker, Post Office, Lloyds bank, NatWest bank, butcher, shop, DIY shop that sold almost everything, and a doctors surgery.

The last time the High Street was resurfaced with tarmac was in the late eighties early nineties.

Today we have one pub(open Wednesday to Sunday) and a village shop that serves the whole village, that is all that is left from the list above even though the village has grown by over a 100 houses.

HGV vehicles our using the village as a short cut through to the M5, A303 and beyond ( this is a fact as we approached a driver in the village shop) and more general traffic over all is causing damage to the road. The lorries are increasingly coming through in the very early hours and causing lack of sleep.

It is also becoming increasingly difficult to get out the drive.

We have witnessed pedestrians, some with children having to back into the hedge due to the size of the lorries and how close to the pavement.

We were one of the first at the horrific accident near the Barton turn off, thank goodness it was at night and not in the day as it does not worth thinking what could have happened.

Queen street junction is an accident waiting to happen. We have witnessed grid lock and vehicles mounting the pavement to pass, when possible we walk across the fields to our destination as increasingly feel unsafe walking.

Well I have no pictures but a huge yellow lorry/with crane thing attached used Irving Road to turn around, he reversed into my then 2 week new car, it lifted it off the ground and he was about to drive off with my car still attached until my neighbour went out and stopped him. His company paid via their insurance but a vehicle that big should be using small roads.
Don’t know if that’s the sort of thing you need. Damn annoying.

Subject: Traffic issues

Good morning, I have just seen your message on Facebook regarding the traffic in keinton. Re the accidents are you aware you can apply to the police for a 'freedom of information' requesting all the traffic incidents in keinton. Also I recently went to a council meeting and discussed the speed traffic come in and out of the village near to cottons Lane. I brought this up as I rarely see the community speed watch at that end of the village and traffic is awful. Since this meeting I have seen them once stood by the playing field but it may be worth pushing this as the majority of traffic does not enter the village at 30 mph. This would also produce date for this campaign. Thanks

Message: The volume of hgv vehicles using Keinton as a thoroughfare has quadrupled in the short time I have lived in the High Street. For myself getting in and out of my property is becoming increasingly difficult as drivers have zero patience and often get angry if they have to wait while we manoeuvre. Also it can take up to 5 -10 minutes to simply cross the road, even more difficult when I have the children and their scooters and bikes. At peak times the traffic will become gridlocked if drivers are unable to get past the narrow part of queen street, this can result in the cars and school coaches mounting the pavements to get by. Personally I no longer walk this way as it's too dangerous. In addition to this the wear and tear to the main road has resulted in drains having to be raised, the knock on effect of these kind of repairs is that the water doesn't flow away causing the adjacent properties to flood, this issue is happening more often due to the relentless hgv traffic particularly during stormy periods when the excess water floods down the drive and over the wall like a tidal wave

Subject: Accident on High Street 25/03/2022

Message: Hello, After reading your latest email, I have details of an accident on the high street outside James May hairdressers. My husband was a witness and the case was all set to go to court, but settled out of court the day before. A white van hit a car outside the hairdressers and my husband was on his motorbike and saw the whole thing. It was reported to the Police. A daily issue continues to be pulling out of Queen street onto the High street where cars are parked outside the shop. This junction is dangerous and the lack of visibility of cars coming from the left - due to parked vehicles often on yellow lines - with pedestrians also is a concern. I have no photos or videos but I am sure this is a common concern. Best of luck ***
